Charles Brockmeyer Sr.and George
Sauer Sr. opened Harford Carpet Sales in 1959 in Maggie Green’s Village Shopping Center on Edgewood Rd. At this time the company was solely involved with the sales and installation of carpeting. Sue Brockmeyer Dieter joined the company in 1968 as business manager. In 1975 Roy Brockmeyer joined the firm as an installer with his brother Glenn joining him in 1979. Roy advanced to sales manager in 1983 at which time he introduced the sale and installation of tile, vinyl, hardwood and ceramic into their product line. Glenn Brockmeyer joined the sales staff in 1991 with the responsibility of the warehouse and installation crews. Sue, Roy and Glenn became partners with George and Charlie in Harford Carpet Sales in 1989. In 1995 Sue, Roy and Glenn became the sole owners. In June of 1999 Harford Carpet Sales achieved their dream of owning their own store when they moved 1/2 block away to the corner of Route 24 and Edgewood Road . Today, we the Brockmeyers are still working together to bring to Harford County the finest "One Stop Floor Covering Store." Our knowledgeable staff has been with us for years and are ready to help with all your decorating needs. |
